Brooke Lawson is a second-year pharmacy student from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Upon graduation, she hopes to pursue a career in ambulatory care where she can be involved in direct patient care over a prolonged period of time. Lawson has developed a growing interest in health and pursuing an active lifestyle and that is part of what has led her to become a health coach for this program. She is also eager to be more involved in helping the community she has called home for the past 3 years. In her free time, Brooke likes going to the gym and spending time with friends. She looks forward to traveling a lot more after graduating.
Hi, my name is Dylan Holland, and I am a current 4th year medical student at WVU School of Medicine. I am interested in pursuing a career as an endocrinologist once I complete medical school. I have been a Type I Diabetic for 11 years, and I love working with other people who battle the same disease as myself. In my free time, I enjoy skiing, playing tennis, reading, and visiting amusement parks. I look forward to meeting everyone!
Jordan Johnston is a Junior Exercise Physiology student with an emphasis in aquatic therapy from Bridgeport, West Virginia. After completing her degree, she hopes to attend graduate school and work as a physical therapist. Johnston chose to become a health coach to help others like herself and other family members that are dealing with chronic health conditions in order to lead a healthier lifestyle. In her free time, Johnston enjoys hiking and rafting amongst other outdoor activities.
Isaac Pringle is a third-year pharmacy student from Doddridge County, West Virginia. After completing Pharmacy school, his goal is to work as a clinical pharmacist at a Veteran’s hospital or in independent community pharmacy. Isaac wants to be a health coach to help provide guidance and lifestyle techniques to improve the health and wellness of residents in West Virginia. Isaac enjoys being outdoors; camping, hiking, fishing, white water rafting, kayaking to name some hobbies.
I am a recent graduate with a Doctorate of Pharmacy (Pharm.D) degree from WVU. I am currently a second year PhD student in the Clinical and Translational Science program in the School of Medicine. My research focuses on reducing harm and infectious diseases among people who inject drugs. I joined DHSMP because I am passionate about educating and encouraging lifestyle changes among community members with chronic diseases. In my free time, I love playing tennis and reading books about history, politics, and social issues. I am a Malaysian Chinese from Kuching, Sarawak.
Jimmy Wyland is a third-year pharmacy student from Chest Springs, Pennsylvania. Jimmy is still unsure of his plans after graduation but is interested in a 2-year residency program. He wanted to become a health coach to help improve the lives of many people within Appalachia. Jimmy wants to have the experience of being a health coach so he can help people even after his time on the project ends. In his free time, Jimmy likes to hang with friends and family, enjoy the outdoors, and likes trying new foods and drinks.
